Club Booking Rules
We want to keep rules to a minimum, but to ensure fair and enjoyable play for all members, please keep the following in mind:
-
Equal Access: Every club member has equal rights to use the tennis courts
-
Court Bookings: Members may book a court for up to 80 minutes per day. Please ensure the person who made the booking is the one using the court
-
Extended Play: If your court is free after your booked time and no one is waiting, you may continue to play
-
Early Start: If your court is available before your booking and no one is waiting, you may begin early
-
Cancellations: If you can't make your booking, please cancel it promptly. Repeat no-shows may receive a 2-week booking suspension
-
Use Your Booked Court: Always play on the court you have reserved (unless agreed with the other party). Using a different court causes confusion and may inconvenience other members
-
Floodlights: Only switch on the floodlights for your booked court if possible. Please remember to turn them off after play: 1,2 & 5 by 9.30pm, Courts 4 by 9pm (needs to be manually switched off)
-
Tennis Etiquette: Be respectful and follow proper tennis etiquette while on court
-
Club Sessions:
-
Sundays from 10:00 am
-
Thursdays from 7:00 pm
-
-
Junior Sessions: Saturdays from 4:00–6:00 pm. During this time:
-
Courts are reserved for juniors only — adults are not allowed to play.
-
The car park is closed for safety reasons
-
-
Visitors are welcome at the club, all visitors need to be signed in (on the notice board) before going on court. Visitors fees are £5 per person and payment can be made through bank transfer to the OLM Account (Ref Visitor Fee) or by leaving cash at the bar (posted through the shutter). Each visitor may play a maximum of 6 times per year.
The LTA code of conduct can be viewed here https://www.lta.org.uk/siteassets/about-lta/file/lta-code-of-conduct-jan-2025.pdf. It emphasises fair play, respect, and safety, requiring players to act with honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship, while respecting officials, club property, and other participants.
